Claims, we have made a few new claims so we are eager to get these horses back to the races
and the winner circle for our clients. We are also looking for more claims and success in the future.
Clever Louis and a promising Cozzine filly, Royal Tromp'e are enjoying a freshening
and should be back to the races by this spring.
Gulfstream Park Backstretch Committee. Kathy was once again asked along with
fellow horsemen John Forbes, Ken McPeek, Tim Hills, and Terri Pompay to represent the
Gulfstream Park trainers. It has been an honor and pleasure to be on this committee,
Working with Scott Savin, Dave Bailey, Dennis Testa, and other top management positions
has enabled us to make this a great meet under the circumstances of the renevations taking place.
Commanding Link finishes 4th for us, hitting the board in all but one start since being
taken over by our training. He hadn't hit the board for the year before the transfer. Owner
Cornelia S. Whalen's homebred is sitting on a win.
Gulfstrream Park the meet started off with Stylish Joe getting claimed off owner
Mike Campbell for $18,000.00. He was another successful claim on the year. Stylish Joe
was claimed at Monmouth Park for $10,000.00. He hit the board in almost every start for us
including 2-second place finishes in entry-level allowance races.
Calder the fall meet was a successfull one with Imagine Me Now breaking her maiden
for owners Rising Sun Stable and Jazz and Cocktails breaking his maiden for his owners
Shoot To Thrill Inc.and Rising Sun STable. Both were ridden by Francisco Maysonett.
The Meadowlands meet we had a lot of 2nds and thirds, but Lottery Luck won for
owners Rising Sun Stable, ridden by Francisco Maysonett before shipping south to
Florida for the winter.
Monmouth Park was a successful meet. The highlight of the meet was Clever Louis who was an
astute claim for $5,000.00 for Shoot To Thrill Inc. and Rising Sun Stable. He won 2 starter
allowance races on the turf. He finished out the fall with a second place finish in a non-winners
of two other than on the turf. Bringing in about $50,000.00 in purse money.
